Project Description

PrixCarburantJour is the French sibling of GasolineraHoy, built on the same engine the same day. Same job: the cheapest gazole and SP95-E10 in your commune today, from official prices.

France turned out to be messier. The government feed has no station brand and no commune code. Brands come from OpenStreetMap, matched for 94% of stations through the prix-carburants reference tag and refreshed weekly. Communes are resolved from the postcode against geo.api.gouv.fr, picking the nearest centre. A station only reports a price when it changes, so the site keeps a 30-day window, shows the update date for every price and drops outliers far from the national median: the feed had SP98 at 1.299 € and LPG at 2.44 €. History is backfilled from the yearly archive, a 340 MB XML file read as a stream.

The result is about 870 pages: 756 communes, 96 departments and 16 fuel brands, plus a near-me page and a price map. The look is its own, taken from French road signs and the paper road atlas, with a different palette, typefaces and layout from the Spanish site while the generator underneath stays shared. Lighthouse mobile scores sit at 98 to 100.
